The story of the "Real Thing " track all began in January of 2011, when I was beatboxing and freestyling at the cypher for a Hiphop convention called " You Must Learn 2" which was a networking event and Hiphop Panel covering many different subjects of the culture. To my surprise one of the panel members was Prince Po of the 90's Hiphop crew "Organized Konfusion" a duo consisting of him and Pharoahe Monch ~ you may have heard of that guy too :)

Po was feelin my beats and my freestyle and we exchanged numbers , but didn't speak for a while. A few months later my colleague Michael Annotti and I were sitting in the studio coming up with a track and a concept. We wanted to give voice to the people who really live their art , but are sometimes misunderstood by the people closest to them. I programmed the beat and the track started to take shape.

Prince Po then expressed his interest in collaborating with people again , and I jumped on the opportunity. After I got Po's verse , Michael laid down a Reggae style 3rd verse filled with emotion and purpose . And to put the cherry on top , he then added a small little rhodes interlude at the end to take us out. I hope you enjoy the track as much as we enjoyed making it.
